ALGA’s annual National General Assembly of Local Government is the chance each year for councils to make their voice heard in Canberra. With just a month to go before the NGA is formally opened by the Governor-General on Monday 19 June, councils that have not yet registered to attend the NGA still have time to do so.

By attending the NGA, your council will have the opportunity to influence local government’s national agenda by engaging with Federal politicians, representing your councils and communities in Canberra, networking with your council colleagues from across Australia, and participating in the debate on important national local government issues.

Your council’s CEO will have received a provisional NGA program in the mail this week, which highlights keynote speakers such as:

  • The Hon Bill Shorten MP – Leader of the Opposition
  • Senator the Hon Fiona Nash – Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, and Regional Communications
  • The Hon Angus Taylor MP – Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Tranformation.

Register your attendance today on the conference website.
