The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is reminding councils that after Friday 27 March 2020, they will no longer be able to use AUSkey or Manage Australian Business Number (ABN) Connections to access the Australian Government’s online services.
“We recommend you move to using myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) well ahead of this date to ensure there is no interruption to your access to the online services,” ATO’s Assistant Commissioner Ben Foster said.
“The ATO have issued emails to all authorised contacts for your government agency with the steps to link your agency to RAM.”
An authorised contact (as listed on an ABN in the Australian Business Register (ABR) is considered a primary person in RAM and only one authorised contact needs to complete the link for your agency.
Check your details are up to date in the ABR before you start.
How you complete the link will depend on the circumstances of your agency. Once you’ve set up your myGovID, follow the steps to link:
Once linked, you can access government online services and set up authorisations for others to act on behalf of the agency. Anyone who’ll be acting on behalf of the agency will also need to set up a myGovID to accept an authorisation request in RAM.
