CWANZ looking to boost local government membership numbers

Cycling and Walking Australia and New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest from local governments to become full or associate members.

CWANZ is the Australasian peak group for walking and bike riding for transport, working collaboratively with state, territory and NZ transport agencies, local councils, and other organisations to make walking and cycling an easy choice and a normal part of everyday life.

As well as identifying pilot and demonstration projects for members to trial and implement, CWANZ offers its members access to a growing resources library. Knowledge is also shared via meetings, webinars, and regular newsletters.

In May 2020, CWANZ hosted a webinar with an expert panel on a response to the increase in walking and cycling during the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinar,  along with the summary and outcomes, can be viewed here.

EOIs for Local Government and Representative Organisations (one position each for Australian capital city, regional, metropolitan areas and New Zealand) close at 5pm (AWST) 17 August. Expressions of Interest for Associate Members are open on a continuous basis.

Information and application forms are available from the CWANZ homepage or contact the Executive Officer (eo@cwanz.com.au).

Membership is free; however, members are expected to cover their own expenses to attend the annual meeting.
