Final projects announced under Qld/Federal infrastructure package

Nine Queensland local governments will receive a share of $10 million in federal and state funding to repair, rebuild and reinforce infrastructure damaged by the 2019 monsoon trough.

The $10 million represents the final tranche of a $134.5 million infrastructure package supported by the Queensland and Federal governments, and will enable 12 betterment and recreational asset projects being undertaken by the councils and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

So far, 35 councils and two state agencies have received $242 million in the exceptional circumstances package of the Commonwealth and Queensland governments’ Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to deliver 139 projects.

In other DRFA news, bushfire recovery efforts in the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island local government areas will receive a $4.9 boost from the federal and SA governments.

Recovery grants of $75,000 will go towards clean-ups, new fencing and other vital rebuilding.
