Disaster recovery assistance for five flood-affected NSW councils

Disaster recovery assistance has been extended to the Hilltops, Liverpool, Central Coast, and Wingecarribee councils after storms and floods in July and early August.

Assistance is being provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

The NSW SES received around 200 requests for assistance in the Hilltops, Liverpool, and Wingecarribee LGAs after localised flooding and disruption caused by the August storms.

Over 170 requests for assistance were received in the Wingecarribee and Central Coast local government areas after storms and flooding in July.

The assistance will help cover the costs associated with the operational response and repairing damaged essential public assets such as roads.

The Department of Home Affairs has more DRFA information.
