Freight industry reference panel gets down to business

The newly established Freight Industry Reference Panel met for the first time this week to progress the National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy.

The panel is acting as a conduit for industry views while providing advice to the Transport and Infrastructure Ministers on how strategic goals can be implemented. Its work is complementary to existing industry engagement mechanisms.

Chairman John Fullerton said the panel looked forward to working with and hearing from all sectors of the freight industry on the delivery of the strategy.

“Big or small, we know industry stakeholders of all levels remain strongly committed and want to see progress on the strategy as quickly as possible,” Mr Fullerton said.

“As such, our advice to government will present a holistic, cross‐network, multi‐modal view, and I look forward to working with these members on this critical goal.”
