Help us to help LG emergency services staff: Colvin

National Bushfire Recovery Coordinator Andrew Colvin is urging local government to get behind the University of Western Australia’s “After the fires” survey.

The UWA survey is studying the impact of the 2019-20 bushfires on the resilience and wellbeing of fire and emergency services personnel.

“If we’re going to do more, we need to know more,” Mr Colvin said this month.

“I strongly encourage you to complete the After the Fires survey so that we can understand the impact on you, we can understand the impact on your family and on your organisation. With that information, we can do so much more to support you.

Many local government authority staff played important roles in responding to the fires. Those who were involved are invited to participate in the study to help ensure the wellbeing of people across Australia involved in responding to major events like these.

More detailed information about the aims of the survey; privacy and confidentiality; and health care and support services available can be found in the Participant Information Form. If you have any questions, you can phone the research team on 1800 216 753 or email bushfires@roymorgan.com
