National Local Roads and Transport Congress postponed

The Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 National Local Roads and Transport Congress.

ALGA’s Board determined that planning a quality conference with lockdown and travel restrictions still in force across much of Australia – and no clear indication of when these will be lifted – would be difficult if not impossible.

A virtual conference was considered, but it was felt that a quality online experience for delegates could not be achieved.

The Congress was to have been staged at the Wrest Point Casino in Hobart on 8-9 November.

The ALGA Board has also set the dates for next year’s National General Assembly of Local Government.

The NGA and the Regional Cooperation and Development Forum will be held from 19-22 June 2022 in Canberra at venues that are still to be confirmed.
