NGA19: Registrations now open!

Registrations are now open for this year’s National General Assembly of Local Government (NGA).

This year, the NGA celebrates 25 years! Over the past quarter century, the NGA has provided a platform for local government to address national issues and lobby the federal government on critical issues facing our sector.

The theme for the 2019 NGA is ‘Future Focused’; this theme acknowledges that the assembly will be held after a federal election and that, as a sector, our collective voice will need to be heard by the incoming government to deliver on collaboration for our communities.

The theme also considers what councils can do today to get ready for the challenges, opportunities and changes that lie ahead. Technology has taken off, demographics are changing, and artificial intelligence and self-driving cars are just around the corner. These changes will be compounded by climate change and exacerbated by increasing community expectations about the level and types of services and infrastructure provided by councils.

Join us at the 2019 NGA as we celebrate successes, learn from past efforts, seek opportunities in the present, and innovate for the future.

Register now on the ALGA website. The early bird offer ends on Friday, 10 May 2019.
