Nominations have opened for the Red Ochre Awards for the lifetime achievements of established Indigenous artists.
There are two prizes of $50,000 each for female and male recipients to honour their outstanding lifetime achievement in the arts, and their contribution to the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, both nationally and internationally.
Recipients cannot self-nominate. Nominations close 1 October.
The 2020 recipients will be announced at the National Indigenous Arts Awards on 27 May, alongside the recipient of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Fellowship, and the recipient of the Dreaming Award for an emerging artist.
