Time is running out to renew RAM, says Tax Office

The Australian Taxation Office is reminding local government finance managers to renew their manual authorisation in RAM before their 12-month expiry date.

If you are the government representative (the primary person) that originally linked your local government agency’s ABN in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) last year, please note that your authorisation is valid for up to 12 months.

When the authorisation is due to expire within 40 days, you will receive a notification in RAM, as well as RAM-generated reminder emails, to renew your authorisation before it expires. System-generated reminder emails are sent to the email address used to accept a RAM authorisation.

If you don’t renew your authorisation before it expires, you will not be able to access government online services on behalf of your agency and will need to be assisted to link again by calling the ATO on 1300 287 539 and select option 3.

To renew simply log in to RAM and follow the prompts to renew within 40 days of the expiry date to prevent your authorisation from expiring. Note: the option to renew will only be available from 40 days of the expiry date.
