WA state government allocates funds for COVID-19 affected businesses

The WA state government has allocated $100 million to waive a wide range of licence fees – including statutory planning fees – for small and medium‑sized businesses in COVID-19 impacted industries for the next 12 months.

The measure is one of a number contained in a$1 billion COVID-19 economic and health relief package unveiled on 31 March.

The package builds on the $25 million rent relief package for businesses operating on government-owned premises and $159 million Lotterywest funding package to support not-for-profit sport, arts and community groups in dealing with the coronavirus epidemic.

To ensure funding certainty for community service providers, government agencies will  continue to pay contracts with the sector until at least June 30 2020, even if providers are unable to deliver services due to impacts caused by COVID-19.
